The Team

Meet The
Coaches

Every coach here trains alongside you. They know the equipment, they know the culture, and they know what it takes to actually get better. You'll see them on the floor before they ever coach you.

Rob Eschbach, founder of Resistance Strength gym in Allentown PA

Founder & CEO

The Man Behind It

Rob Eschbach

30 years coaching people. Rob's spent more time on gym floors than most trainers have been alive. He can watch you move for 10 seconds and know exactly what's off.

He created the 4S Method — Strength, Stability, Skill, and Sweat. Three decades of coaching taught him what actually moves the needle for people, and that's what this system is built on.

Rob built Resistance Strength because no other gym around here was doing it right. He still trains here every day alongside members, and that alone says more than any bio could.

Payton Bachman — personal trainer at Resistance Strength Allentown

Payton Bachman

Head Coach

Sports Performance · HyperFocus

8+ years coaching. Exercise Science degree from West Chester, where he played collegiate football — that's where he learned how athletic development actually works. Payton is high-energy and hands-on. He combines the science with the reps and he's invested in the people he trains, not just the programming. Whether you're a competitive athlete or someone who trains like one, he'll push you to a level you didn't know you had. Outside the gym, he's on the golf course or with his son.

Brenna — personal trainer at Resistance Strength Allentown

Brenna

Brenna spent four years as a competitive Olympic weightlifter at the national level. She knows what high-level performance looks like and how to make it work for real people. New to serious training or pushing through a plateau, she's the one to work with. Reach out to set up your free consultation.

Stephen — personal trainer at Resistance Strength Allentown

Stephen

Coach

10-12 years in the game. Started as a sponsored racquetball player and teacher, coached through high school and college, then spent years as a personal trainer before landing at F13. He shifted to CrossFit along the way and now competes and trains for performance and longevity. USAW Level 1 certified. Stephen's coaching style is built around variety. Different warm-ups, different cues, different approaches to get past the sticking points on new movements. He'll teach you how to think about a workout differently and get more out of every session. He genuinely loves watching people surprise themselves. Also hates burpees, so you're already on the same page.

Sam — personal trainer at Resistance Strength Allentown

Sam

Coach

Functional Fitness · HYROX

Samantha Partington, PT, DPT, CWCE and former collegiate field hockey player from Misericordia University, has been coaching at F13 for 2 years. She brings a coaching style focused on smart, intentional movement — blending her physical therapy background with functional fitness in a way most coaches simply can't. Two HYROX events completed and counting. Outside the gym, Sam works full time in outpatient rehab and is always up for a hike or travel adventure.

Alyssa Kobela — personal trainer at Resistance Strength Allentown

Alyssa Kobela

Coach

Former elite-level field hockey player and coach with Olympians on her training résumé. WheelWOD and WZA 2023 Champion. 2024 Adaptive CrossFit Games Champion. USAW Level 2 and CrossFit Level 1 certified. Alyssa has competed at the highest levels her entire life, and she coaches the same way. Technical skill, smart progressions, intentional sessions, and enough fun that you actually want to come back. She competes at the highest levels while navigating life with Multiple Sclerosis and hEDS. She'll be the first to tell you she's still learning, still pushing, still figuring it out. Ambassador for MS4MS. When she's not coaching, she's adventuring with her family or making fresh pasta from scratch. Come say hi.
